Upgrade of existing road from Lawas Damit to Long Lempaki

Soil investigation works have been completed for the upgrade of an existing dirt road connecting Lawas Damit to Long Lempaki, in the Lawas District. In the infrastructure project implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), under RECODA, the 1.4km road will connect villages such as Kampung Long Lempaki and Kampung Sahabat Baru.

The project also involves the construction of drainage structures as well as the installation of road signs. Construction is expected to be completed by the middle of this year.

Roads within Long Lama, Long Bedian to be improved

A total of 23.7km of existing earth roads within the Long Lama and Long Bedian area, in the Miri Division, will be upgraded to R1 standard in an infrastructure project implemented by the Highland Development Agency (HDA), under RECODA.

The improvements will also cover spur roads connecting to Long Buang, Long Tujang and Long Wat. Soil investigation works are completed, while excavation works and slope cutting are underway. Contractor’s facilities, including living quarters and a site office, have also been constructed.

The project is expected to be completed by next year.

RECODA collabs with MIDA to draw investors

RECODA is looking at ways to further enhance its collaboration with Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to attract more investors into Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) areas.

A meeting was held today at RECODA’s head office where MIDA, led by its Sarawak director, Redzuan Abdul Rahman discussed ways on how both parties can help attract more investors into SCORE which spans from the central up to the northern region of Sarawak.

RECODA is the specialist agency set up in 2006 to oversee and manage the ambitious SCORE project.

It has two main goals which is to promote SCORE by creating and stimulating new and existing markets, and to work towards achieving Sarawak’s ambitious investment and development goals.

MIDA meanwhile is tasked to promote foreign and domestic investments in the manufacturing and services sectors and to undertake planning for industrial development in Malaysia, among others.

New road to link Nanga Makut, Nanga Engkuah

Earthworks have commenced for a 21.6km R1 Standard road connecting Nanga Makut to Nanga Engkuah in Song, Katibas.

A total of 13 Bailey bridges will also be constructed in the infrastructure project implemented by the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), under RECODA.

Soil investigation works have been concluded while demolition and site clearing are in progress.

The project will be completed by the end of this year.

New volcanic mud facilities, rural library in Limbang

A new recreational facility will be constructed for Kampung Meritam’s Lumpur Bebuak in Limbang, the only area in the country with volcanic mud. Construction plans will include a new road and an entrance gate for the facility.

A new rural library will also be constructed for Batu Danau, in Limbang. An existing building on the construction site will be demolished. Construction is expected to be completed by this year.

New single-lane bridge to cross Sungai Layun at Long Kevok

Soil investigation works for the construction of a new single-lane bridge crossing Sungai Layun at Long Kevok, in the Miri division, has just been completed.

Piling works have begun for the foundation of the reinforced concrete bridge, which will be followed by groundworks for roads and drainages.

The infrastructure project is implemented by the Highland Development Agency (HDA), under RECODA. It is expected to be completed by the middle of this year.
