New volcanic mud facilities, rural library in Limbang

A new recreational facility will be constructed for Kampung Meritam’s Lumpur Bebuak in Limbang, the only area in the country with volcanic mud. Construction plans will include a new road and an entrance gate for the facility.

A new rural library will also be constructed for Batu Danau, in Limbang. An existing building on the construction site will be demolished. Construction is expected to be completed by this year.

New road from Bukit Lubok to Kampung Seberang Kedai, Limbang

A 4km road from Bukit Lubok to Kampung Seberang Kedai, in Limbang will be constructed in an infrastructure project implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), under RECODA.

Culvert works, to ease the water levels in the wetlands, will begin after the site has been cleared. Soil investigation works have been completed, while a site office has been established.

The project is expected to be completed next year.

 

CM briefed on NRDA infrastructure projects during official trip to Limbang

During an official working trip to Limbang recently, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan were briefed by RECODA on infrastructure projects under the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA).

The briefings, led by RECODA CEO Datu Ismawi Ismuni, also covered the proposed 86km Northern Coastal Highway, which will cross Limbang and Lawas and improve road connectivity in the northern region.

Other projects briefed include the Tedungan-Pandaruan dual carriageway, jetties and walkways in the Limbang District.

Limbang’s Tedungan-Pandaruan road section to be upgraded to dual carriageway

Over 1km of existing Tedungan-Pandaruan road, in Limbang will be upgraded into a dual carriageway of JKR U3 Standard. Existing drains have been demolished while excavation work is underway. Meanwhile, an access road has been constructed while piling and drainage work have begun.

A pagol pole, or native burial pole, was relocated to the Limbang Museum. An existing tennis court has been demolished to make way for construction works.

The project, implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), under RECODA, is expected to be completed next year.

Upgrades for Tedungan ICQS complex at Dalau Land District, Limbang

The Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) complex at Tedungan, in Limbang, will be upgraded in a development project implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), under RECODA.

The upgrade works include rewiring in all buildings including fittings, construction of a new genset and two new toilets for public use. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
