KUCHING: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud chaired the 4th Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) Board of Directors’ Meeting here, on 20th January, 2014.
During the meeting, Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud – who is also the chairman of the RECODA Board of Directors – pointed out that the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) is currently enjoying a growth momentum, which the State should focus on preserving.
As such, he believed that the State must also keep a close eye on the global economic situation, as shifts in the world market would have a significant impact on Sarawak, especially as the local economy becomes more globalised.
Apart from that, RECODA’s Chairman stressed on the importance of creating greater awareness among the local small- and medium-sized industries, regarding opportunities created by the vastly-expanding economic activities in SCORE.
During the meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s Office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, RECODA Chief Executive Officer Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot briefed the Board members on the Authority’s performance and on the overall progress and development of SCORE.
In attendance were the Board’s Deputy Chairman, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Alfred Jabu Anak Numpang, and Board members State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani; mhMarican Advisory Sdn Bhd Chairman and CEO Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican; and State Financial Secretary Dato Sri Ahmad Tarmizi Haji Sulaiman.
Also attending the board meeting were representatives of the Treasury Secretary-General; Public Private Partnership Unit (Prime Minister’s Department) Director General; and Economic Planning Unit (Prime Minister’s Department) Director General.
