RECODA was among the invited guests for Linde EOX Sdn Bhd (Linde) earth breaking ceremony for its RM 33 million (EUR 7.4 million) new air separation unit (ASU) in Tanjung Kidurong.
Mr Boon Kuet San, the Head of Administration, Human Resource, Finance and Accounts for RECODA was representing RECODA’s CEO Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot for the event.
The new plant, when combined with its existing ASU in Kuching, will increase the company’s production capacity by approximately 33 tonnes per day of liquefied gases.
Linde first announced its investment in this new plant in April 2016 and the plant is due to come on stream by end 2017.
When completed, the new ASU will provide liquefied gases supply and related solutions to serve engineering, construction, healthcare, chemical, metal processing, oil and gas industries in East Malaysia.
Connell Zhang, Managing Director for Linde Malaysia, said, “Today marks another important milestone in Linde’s long heritage in East Malaysia and underscores our commitment to continue investing for long-term growth and development here.
“We recognize that all these industries are an integral part contributing to the long-term economic success for East Malaysia, especially in achieving the initiatives and plans laid out in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE). In making this happen, RECODA is diversifying its spectrum in line with its emerging focus for SCORE to ensure that the early successes achieved are continued.
“With the initiatives driven by SCORE and RECODA Linde is upbeat about the market growth in East Malaysia. Since the introduction of SCORE, we have seen a substantial in flow of global and domestic investment in Sarawak.
“We are committed to strengthen our supply capabilities and service offerings to better serve our existing and new customers and will continue to explore opportunities for us to invest strategically expanding our footprint here in East Malaysia.”
