On 3rd November 2015, Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan Satem launched Bukit Mabong as a new district in Kapit.

Bukit Mabong is the fourth district in Kapit – Kapit itself, Belaga and Song are the other three. Bukit Mabong covers an area of 12,000 square kilometres and has a population of more than 22,000. The area is known for its outstanding natural beauty with extensive forests, hills and clear, sparkling streams and is expected to attract tourism and other recreation linked investors. 

Also present during the ceremony were the Sarawak State Secretary, Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi Bin Abdul Ghani; and Minister of Land Development Datuk Amar Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, who is also the Member of Parliament for Baleh.

In conjunction with the launch, a two-day exhibition on SCORE was also held on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2015. The exhibition aimed to explain to the public about existing SCORE developments. It also shared future development plans for the Tunoh Growth Node.

Present to welcome and brief dignitaries at the SCORE booth were Chief Executive Officer of RECODA, Tan Sri Datuk Wilson Baya Dandot and other RECODA officers.

Other Agencies involved in the exhibition were Sarawak Energy Berhad, SALCRA, Jabatan Kerja Raya Kapit, Land & Survey Kapit.
