The ASEAN-China Entrepreneurs’ (ACE) Conference 2016 was held from 12-13 May 2016 at the Imperial Hotel, Kuching. There were 300 participants from China, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and other ASEAN countries participating in the conference, jointly organised by Sarawak Entreprenuer Association (SEA), FAME International College and University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC), UNIMAS.
The conference was a platform for entreprenuers from ASEAN and China to share information, explore new business opportunities, establish business relationships for business expansion and to gain important insights into doing business in ASEAN and China.
During the 2-day conference there were collaborative and interactive forums, critical information presentations from experts, well-known corporate figures, successful entrepreneurs from China and ASEAN, policy makers, relevant government agencies such as Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Ministry of Industrial Development (MID) and representatives of the Thailand Ambassador and the China, Indonesia and Brunei Consulates.
During the conference, RECODA showcased its work in SCORE with an exhibition highlighting projects and development in SCORE.
YB Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hiang representing the Chief Minister of Sarawak officiated the conference opening ceremony. Also present were H.E. Yang Xiuping, the Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre headquartered in Beijing. YBhg. Prof Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Kadim Bin Suaidi Vice Chancellor of University Malaysia Sarawak UNIMAS and President of the Sarawak Entrepreneur Association (SEA), Mr. Simon Wong.
